Akiko Owada is a New York-based makeup artist. Born and raised in Tokyo, she highlights and embraces her Japanese heritage by infusing her work with both minimalism and artistry. A hallmark of Owada’s work is her delicate precision and the ability to create perfect-looking skin while maintaining a natural texture. Owada has been on teams for runway shows such as Balenciaga, Oscar De la Renta, Marc Jacobs, Céline, Ralph Lauren, Maryam Nassir Zadeh and many more. She has also keyed major campaigns for Partow, Tiffany & Co., Moda Operandi, Uniqlo, Cartier, Club Monaco, Tommy Hilfiger, Levi’s, and Nike. Her editorial work has been featured in top publications such as Vogue (Italy, China, Spain, Russia), V, Interview, and WSJ.
