Joanna Simkin

Joanna Simkin has over a decade of experience, and has collaborated with major commercial and beauty brands and celebrities, from Mercedes-Benz and CoverGirl to Leona Lewis and Zayn Malik. Joanna was born in London and raised in San Francisco, where she became interested in art and design. As a young child, she began to display her talent as an artist specializing in drawing and painting. By the age of 18, she was “painting” her first faces.

After attending design school in San Francisco, Joanna moved to New York City and began working at the famed John Barrett Salon at Bergdorf Goodman. Her budding skills as a beauty expert noticeably drove business and she began cultivating relationships in the beauty and fashion industry.

In 2005 Joanna was offered a role at Carol’s Daughter, a multicultural beauty brand, in a Director’s role in Marketing and Publicity. In this bi-coastal position, Joanna cultivated strong relationships with A-List celebrities, Fortune 500 companies, stylists, editors, influencers and taste makers.

Armed with an impressive rolodex, Joanna resumed makeup artistry full-time on her own. Immediately engulfed in photo shoots, production, and red carpet events, she found herself working with brands such as McDonalds, Old Navy, Net-a-Porter, Coca-Cola and Canon. Joanna has been commissioned for projects by Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Marvel, Paramount Pictures, Gap, L'Uomo Vogue, Cosmo, Porter Magazine, and a host of others.
